One of the most important elements of your golf swing
00:04
is your ability to wind your upper body
00:06
over the resistance of your lower body
00:09
to create a really powerful turn.
00:11
Where a lot of high handicappers go wrong
00:13
is because they're not flexible in their shoulders
00:15
or their hips or their torso.
00:17
They end up just lifting their arms,
00:19
so they never get power.
00:21
So here's a really great exercise
00:23
to help you increase your rotation.
00:25
It's called the shuffle and a twist.
00:27
So stand in your golf stance,
00:28
and hold a golf club like this.
00:30
Take two steps laterally, stabilize your lower body,
00:34
and then twist your upper body to the side.
00:37
Quickly change directions, shuffle to the other side,
00:40
and then rotate in the opposite direction.
00:43
The twisting portion of this exercise
00:45
really teaches your body's ability
00:47
to wind the torso over stable hips,
00:49
and then adding that little hop and the change of direction
00:52
really challenge your balance and stability.
00:55
So you'll want to add this exercise into your daily routine.
