[Gil] The par four seventh hole
00:12
of the Rio Olympic course is a real beast,
00:15
probably the hardest hole of all on the golf course.
00:19
It plays 493 yards for the men and 407 for the women
00:24
directly into the wind and out to a heavily rolling fairway.
00:30
Bunkers are cut into the right-hand side
00:32
of the driver landing area with a garden upper plateau.
00:39
The green is kind of L-shaped
00:40
with a very severe false front that players have to fly
00:43
if they want to stay on the green.
00:46
Here's a closer look at the deep fairway bunkers
00:48
that guard the driver landing area
00:49
on the right-hand side of the fairway.
00:58
And a nice perspective of the false front of this green.
01:03
Here's the deep bunker that cuts into the L
01:05
at the elbow of the green on the right.
01:07
The green wraps behind this bunker with a pretty good slope.
01:10
So if the player hits it to the center of the green
01:12
far enough back, they can use that slope
01:14
to funnel the ball to the back right.
