[Gil] The par five, fifth hole of the Rio Olympic Course
00:12
turns back to the north and plays
00:14
along the east side of the lake.
00:16
At 547 yards from the tips, and 493 from the women's tees,
00:21
it's the shortest par five on the course,
00:23
so, a lot of players will try
00:24
to go for this in two when they can.
00:27
There's water all the way down the left side of the hole
00:29
until you get to about 100 yards out.
00:31
The players who can stay close to it
00:33
will have the best angle into the green.
00:35
After having a pretty generous fairway to work with,
00:38
we get to one of the smallest greens on the course,
00:40
set up on a ridge with large bunkers in the front.
00:45
Any player going for it in two is going
00:47
to have to fly these bunkers.
00:49
It's a pretty dramatic green site,
00:51
with some of the nicest bunkering on the course
00:52
and a sharp drop of on the left-hand side
00:55
of the green if they miss it long.
