The 14th hole on the Rio Olympic course
00:12
might be the prettiest hole on the property,
00:14
but it's also the longest of the five par threes.
00:17
Even at the regular yardage of 229 yards for the men,
00:21
and 190 for the women.
00:23
It plays directly into the prevailing wind
00:25
and there's an alternate back tee
00:26
that measures over 250 that would definitely come into play
00:29
at some point during the tournament.
00:31
The green is heavily protected
00:32
by some of the prettiest bunkering on the course.
00:35
There's a mound on the front left of the green
00:37
that will kick balls and help feed them
00:39
to the back right corner.
00:40
Then there's a bunker back left.
00:42
That's the place where players really don't want to
00:44
miss their tee shot.
00:47
If you're going to miss it anywhere here,
00:49
make it short left.
00:51
That's where there's a lot of fairway
00:52
and a nice chipping area to recover from.
00:55
(triumphant music)
