[Gil] The Rio Olympic Course's par four
00:12
13th hole measures 479 yards for the men
00:15
and 408 for the women.
00:20
It plays downwind from an elevated tee to a dogleg right
00:23
that's guarded by the largest tree on the property.
00:26
It's an indigenous ficus tree
00:28
that sits right at the corner of the turn here,
00:31
which adds to the risk-reward of the hole.
00:33
I think many of the players in the field
00:35
will probably just fire their tee shots
00:37
over the top of the tree,
00:38
to try and cut off as much as they can of the corner here.
00:42
There's also a bunker on the left side of the fairway
00:44
at the end of the dogleg to make things extra interesting.
00:49
Then they'll have an approach
00:50
into one of the most severe greens on the golf course.
00:53
It has a false front, a steep drop off the back,
00:56
and some significant shelves and tiers and rolls in it.
01:01
So the first battle here will be with the ficus tree,
01:05
then it's a matter of tackling this large, undulating green.
01:09
If players go long, short, left, or right,
01:13
they'll have a tricky up and down.
