I retired in July, 2015, and I came home,
00:13
I had nothing to do, but when my kids came to me and said,
00:17
Well dad, you're gonna be miserable doing nothing.
00:20
So, why don't we do something together?
00:22
Well, what would that be?
00:23
Well, let's start a putter company and put our name on it.
00:25
When we dug into it a little bit deeper,
00:27
it became obvious that there was an opportunity
00:30
for us to make a difference.
00:32
I'm Sean Toulon, founder, CEO, of Toulon Design.
00:35
We make the most beautiful and best performing
00:37
putters in the world.

I grew up as a caddy, I started
00:43
when I was about 12 years old,
00:44
and then really started to play the game pretty much
00:46
everyday, I just, I am a golfer that's who I am.
00:51
I learned from my father, he introduced me to the game,
00:53
and we would go out on Sunday mornings,
00:55
and play, and it was just a special time.
01:00
I'm lucky enough to have spent
01:01
pretty much my entire life in golf.
01:04
And from my early days at Tailormade,
01:06
and I spent a long time there,
01:07
gosh, over 20 years altogether,
01:08
and I just have learned so much,
01:10
and have been around so much of the game.
01:13
The experiences that you get are invaluable,
01:16
you know, and if you take that experience
01:17
with this curiosity and bring these things together,
01:20
you can do some pretty incredible things.
01:22
It's got me where we are today.
01:25
Toulon Design is a collaboration with my family involved,
01:29
my sons are involved in the company in a deep way.
01:31
So, to be able to spend time with them,
01:34
it's a dream come true.
01:37
People ask all the time, being an entrepreneur,
01:40
oh my gosh, it must be so risky, or it must be so difficult,
01:43
and on this one, I've never felt like there was really
01:47
any risk at it.
01:48
We have incredible people helping out,
01:51
we've got great partners, whether it's Square Space
01:53
or Golf Digest, and so many people that are just
01:55
really interested in what we're doing,
01:58
that's been a big help.
02:00
If you have huge amounts of resources,
02:02
you can solve a problem by throwing bodies,
02:05
or money, or whatever it is, at it.
02:08
When you don't have all of those things,
02:10
then you have to solve things through
02:13
great amounts of imagination, curiosity, and creativity.
02:17
And I can tell you from being on both sides,
02:19
creativity and imagination wins
02:22
a hundred times out of a hundred.
