The Grind: Jordan Spieth ends his "slump," Steph vs. LeBron & bikini golf
Alex Myers discusses Jordan Spieth's win at Colonial, bikini golf, the NBA Finals, and a magical round at Winged Foot.
Released on 5/31/2016
[Alex] From One World Trade Center,
I'm Alex Myers, and this is The Grind.
What's up guys? As you can see, we've got a new set up.
And I'm not wearing a sweater for the first time.
We're making history. Anyway,
here's what I'm buying and selling this week.
I'm buying Jordan Spieth,
who ended the most over-hyped slump in PGA tour history.
He didn't win in nine events!
Hey, Jordan, are you ready for the US Open?
That's what we thought.
Speaking of being US Open ready,
I was fortunate enough to play winged foot
for the first time, and I shot seventy-seven
from the black tees.
I can take you through the whole card if you want.
I'm selling having to get stitches
from going to a golf tournament.
That's what happened to Elisa Butler at Colonial.
But, on the bright side, Tony Finau showed up
at her house the next day with chocolates and flowers.
What a guy.
I'm buying Ariya Jutana ...
Jutana ... Jutanag ...
Jutanugarn ... Jutanugarn!
(crowd cheering) Jutanugarn.
What ... Whatever. I'm buying her!
She's twenty years old, and she won
for the third straight week on the LPGA tour.
We might have been a bit quick
in handing the next decade of women's golf to Lydia KO.
[Loud Voice] What!
I'm selling Muirfield ... Again.
A high-profile member said they voted
against allowing women members to prove a point
because they didn't like the media telling them what to do.
Wow, guys! You really showed us!
Have fun not hosting the British Open anymore.
And, I'm buying Rocco Mediate,
who finally won that elusive first major
at the Senior PGA Championship.
Congrats, Rocco, you'll now be known
for more than being that guy who lost
to Tiger Woods in the 2008 US Open.
Mm ... Nah, that's what you're going to be known for.
Now, onto more important matters.
This week in bikini golf, meet Savannah,
a Cactus Tour winner, who took her clubs
to the beach this Memorial Day weekend.
And before all the environmental nuts go crazy,
know that Savannah was using biodegradable golf balls.
Nicely done, and great balance!
And as always, we end with some random,
but important questions to ponder.
Number one, who will win the NBA finals?
Lebron James, or Stephan Curry?
It's tough to pick against anybody
who's been on the cover of Golf Digest.
Number two, if you could choose just one dessert
to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I'd have to go with the Frosty.
Side note, I discovered that in Woodbury, New York,
there's a Wendy's right next to a Chili's.
What a magical place!
Boy, did I spoil my wife that day.
And number three, what's the best round of golf
I've played this year?
Oh, right. Did I mention I shot seventy-seven
at Winged Foot? (bell chimes)
