The Grind: Golf In Heels & An Apology to Brandt Snedeker
GolfDigest.com's Alex Myers discusses a new golf fashion, an uncharacteristically wet week in San Diego, and other news around the golf world.

I'm Alex Myers and welcome to another edition
of The Grind, golf's top variety column.
That appears on GolfDigest.com.
On Mondays. On Tuesdays.
Alright, here's what I'm buying and selling this week.
I'm selling the weather in San Diego this weekend
and I'm taking personal delight in doing so. Why?
Because that's all I've heard about
since my parents retired there, a few years ago.
So mom, dad, if you're watching,
I know you're watching,
let's give it a rest for a little bit.
I'm buying Brandt Snedeker who looked oblivious
to that bad weather at Torrey Pines.
Snedeker fired a final round 69,
the best round of the day by three shots,
to win his eighth PGA Tour title.
However, I'm selling Snedeker's timing.
You see, I took Sneds in my fantasy draft last week.
So what's the problem?
The league starts this week.
That probably means you're not winning
for the rest of the year.
I'm buying Phil Mickelson's magical hybrid.
Did you see some of the shots he pulled off at Torrey Pines?
One word: fence.
But, I'm selling Phil Mickelson's driving.
Did you see where he was hitting those hybrid shots from?
Let's see that photo again of Phil by the fence.
Yeah, we see you over there Phil.
On to a more serious topic.
This week in questionable golf attire.
Introducing Jordan Wolf,
a golfer at Jacksonville University,
who has much better balance than I do.
But are these heels acceptable on the course?
We'll give her a pass because of that swing.
I also wanna highlight a special Super Bowl prop bet.
Which total will be higher:
the amount of receiving yards Emmanuel Sanders
has in the big game,
or Tiger Woods' opening round at the 2016 Masters?
Yes. This is a real bet.
No. You should not get involved.
Want a safer bet?
How about bet that Tiger Woods
won't even be at Augusta this year?
And finally, we wrap up with some random,
but important, questions to ponder.
Number one: what kind of a cut did Jordan Spieth's agent
get for filling in as his client's caddie?
can I fill in for Jordan Spieth's caddie sometime?
And number three: how much beer will be consumed
at this week's Waste Management Phoenix Open?
Let's just say...
I wish I was there.
