From one world trade center, i'm Alex Myers
and this is The Grind,
golf's top rated variety com
that appears on golfdigest.com
What's up guys,
here's what I'm buying and selling this week.
I'm buying University of Georgia's senior Lee MckCoy
who finished 4th at the Valspar Championship,
the highest finish by an amateur
and a PJ tour vet since 1998.
And immediately after beating Jordan Speed head to head
he drove seven and a half hours back to campus
and played in a 36 hole college event the next day
I'm selling the fact that McCoy had to pass up on a
because of his amateur status
and that's a lot of money for anybody
but especially for who has about $300 in his bank account.
Imagine the keggers he could have thrown
in his last semester.
I'm buying Mark Wahlberg who made a 3rd career hole-in-one
at Pelican Hill Golf Club last week.
Well, 7th if you count the four he's made in his backyard.
Apparently Wahlberg counts those
and I'm not gonna argue with anyone strong enough
to hit a 9-iron 163 yards.
And I'm selling Ben Higgins
for not proposing to Jojo in the finale of The Bachelor.
Ben, are you not aware that she's a golfer?
That means Jojo will be the next bachelorette.
In related news several of my coworkers
are already filling out applications
to be contestants on the show.
Back to reality, this week in Noble Golf Causes.
So apparently there's a guy named Dave
and he's going on a trip to Hawaii with his wife
but she won't let him play Kapalua's Plantation Course
because the green fee is 200 bucks.
So one of his friends was kind enough to setup
a GoFundMe page for him
and even chipped in the first five bucks.
I wrote about Dave's unfortunate situation on Monday
when he had just $50 in donations.
Less than 24 hours later he's up to $410.
You're welcome Dave.
Take me with you.
And finally, we end with some random but important
Questions To Ponder.
Number 1, how much money could I raise
if I started a GoFundMe page to play Pebble Beach?
You better chip in Dave.
Number 2, what did Paige Spiranac and LeBron James
talk about when they met?
The options are endless.
And number 3, who will win
the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament?
I'm taking Virginia
which means they have no chance.
