Masters champ Patrick Reed celebrates with Chris Rock, Aziz Ansari & J.R. Smith
Alex Myers discusses Patrick Reed rubbing elbows with celebrities following his Masters win, and the one he could partner with on the golf course.
Released on 4/11/2018
So, Patrick Reed won the Masters
and his green jacket tour's already in full throttle.
The day after slipping that bad boy on for the first time
Reed had front row seats at a New York Knicks game.
Okay, so having to watch the Knicks these days
sounds more like a punishment than a prize
but not when the Cleveland Cavaliers are in town.
That's right, the king was at MSG.
Oh, Lebron James was there too.
It was also perfect timing because
Cleveland's J. R. Smith is a huge fan of Reed's
and he wants the Masters champ
as his member member partner at their golf club in Houston,
Blue Jack National.
When you combine Smith's flexing
and Reed's shushing,
sounds like a formidable squad.
In fact, J. R. is already guaranteeing victory.
we can all fair pretty well at our home clubs
if we partied with the current Masters champ.
But we're hoping this actually happens
and that someone is there to film it.
Oh, and don't get too jealous Jordan Spieth,
you can still have your partner back
in time for the Rider Cup.
But basketball players weren't the only celebrities
Reed met while in New York.
He sat next to comedians Chris Rock
and Aziz Ansari at the game.
And the man who loves to cook
bumped into Guy Fieri.
Between the one liners and recipes
he probably picked up from those guys,
Reed already has a leg up on hosting
next year's Champions Dinner.
While in New York, Reed's media tour appearances
ran the gamut from CBS This Morning
to The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
The 27 year old also visited
the New York Stock Exchange
and reigned in his prodigious power
so as not to break the gavel again.
And Reed made it to the top of the Empire State Building.
Probably scaling the skyscraper
with his bare hands
because King Kong ain't got (beep)
on Captain America!
The only disappointing part of Patrick's victory tour
is he didn't have time to squeeze in a visit
to Gold Digest headquarters.
Hoping he'd come,
I even brought in the green jacket
I won on my golf trip last summer to work.
Because I wanted to get a picture
with the newest green jacket winner
and you know,
welcome him into the club.
Instead I just got a lot of funny looks on the subway.
Maybe another time Patrick.
After all, you've got 12 more months
of getting to parade around
in the world's most coveted coat,
And just one request.
please show up to the first T
at the Rider Cup with it on.
