To all the Golf Digest readers out there
00:06
who have been told that they need to get
00:08
to their left side in their golf swing,
00:10
I wanna show you how to do that
00:11
with a completely different intent though.
00:14
If you look at a Major League pitcher,
00:16
stands on a mound that's on a slope
00:20
with a rubber stopper behind the trail foot
00:22
or the push foot.
00:24
From there, the windup is picking the left leg up
00:27
and then really driving from this right glute
00:30
and this right hip.
00:31
Driving through there with the pelvis,
00:33
and then, obviously, throwing.
00:35
The plant leg is very important as well,
00:37
but if you look at most of the motion,
00:39
the action is being driven by the right side driving.
00:42
So what I want people to understand is,
00:45
so many of you get to your left side so quick
00:47
that you're forced to hang back.
00:49
What I'd like you to focus on
00:51
is getting off your right side.
00:53
So it can look like this.
00:57
(strikes ball)
01:00
Okay, you've seen Gary Player and a number of tour players
01:02
do it during tournament time.
01:03
It ensures a solid contact
01:05
and it ensures you hitting the ball the right distance.
