Well here we are at the first tee.
00:05
I can tell you that everybody gets nervous
00:07
on the first tee.
00:08
And there are a few things you can do about it
00:10
to relieve that nervousness.
00:12
First thing you can do is before you get to the first tee,
00:15
do something that I've seen a lot of players do,
00:18
and it makes a lot of sense to me.
00:20
Why don't you practice the last shot on the practice tee
00:24
with the driver that you're gonna hit on the first tee.
00:26
Start with your putting, then your short clubs,
00:28
and then practice with your driver.
00:38
That gives you an immediate feel from the practice range
00:42
right to the first tee.
00:44
Now there are a couple of other things when you're about
00:46
ready to hit the ball you can think about.
00:49
One is what we described before, is take a deep breath.
00:53
And then let it out and then hold it.
00:56
That helps relieve some of that pressure.
00:58
It flushes out some of that nervousness.
01:01
The second thing is actually something to think about
01:03
when you're making the swing.
01:05
And that is, my good friend Jack Nicklaus said,
01:09
he said, he tries to make sure that he completes
01:11
his backswing and he starts down at the same speed as he
01:16
ends his backswing, with right there.
01:18
So he doesn't rush the downswing.
01:22
And don't rush down.
01:29
That'll help get rid of the first tee jitters.
