Even though most of the time I spend is
00:06
with PGA Tour players, I have a great opportunity
00:09
to watch a lot of amateurs play golf
00:10
every Wednesday, at each tournament's Pro Am.
00:14
I would argue that nine out of 10 amateurs
00:17
aim right of the target.
00:18
And I think I figured out the catalyst to why that is.
00:21
When the amateur starts from here, they look at the target,
00:23
they're standing behind the ball,
00:25
and then as they walk into the ball,
00:27
they come from this angle.
00:29
So as they're moving into the ball,
00:30
the target's moving more and more right in their eyes.
00:33
Hence the reason they set up to the right.
00:35
Now, from here, I have to do two or three things incorrect
00:39
to get the ball back on line.
00:41
If you watch the PGA Tour players,
00:43
when they do the same thing,
00:44
they come in from behind the ball.
00:46
They stay on that target line as long as possible.
00:49
They get the club face on line first,
00:52
then set the body up.
00:53
If you can become more consistent at that,
00:55
I can assure you you'll shoot lower scores
00:57
because of better alignment.
