Rickie Fowler uses a standard grip on long putts and switches to cross-handed on short ones. If you think your putting needs a shake-up, maybe this'll work for you, too.

This year I've kind of gone back and forth
00:05
between putting cross-handed and with a traditional grip.
00:08
I always have better feel with the normal grip,
00:11
but I make a better stroke cross-handed.
00:14
So with the cross-handed grip,
00:15
I actually get into a better setup position,
00:17
my forearms sit properly, the right one sits
00:19
just under the left, and I guess a tendency of mine
00:23
is with the normal grip, my right forearm
00:25
will tend to creep up a little bit too much
00:27
and make it tough to make a proper stroke from there.
00:30
So definitely better feel with the normal grip,
00:33
but cross-handed I'm in a much better setup,
00:35
make a better stroke, my forearms are in better position,
00:39
my right forearm sits just under my left,
00:41
which is where you'd like it to be.
00:43
I get into a better setup and over the ball
00:46
more consistently than I do with a normal grip.
