All the years that I've played and taught golf,
00:03
it's been interesting to me,
00:04
people want to have putting tips
00:06
and they always ask about their stroke.
00:08
I have to tell ya, I'm much more interested
00:10
in the routine you take and also that you
00:13
visualize the putt and visualizing the putt to me
00:15
starts with having the right speed.
00:17
My dad taught me one of the biggest things
00:19
was never leave a putt short,
00:21
but you don't ever go more than 16, 17 inches past.
00:25
So you'll see the tee behind the hole.
00:27
The goal for me is to get it to the hole
00:29
and if I don't make it,
00:30
to not go past that tee.
00:32
I'm much more interested in having the right speed
00:34
than I am having the right line,
00:36
because if I have the right speed,
00:38
it'll utilize the entire hole
00:40
and generally go in.
00:52
A little miss.
00:53
A little on the high side,
00:54
but the ball still rolls
00:55
and I know I can make the next one coming back.
00:58
Next putt, same thing.
01:00
Maybe a little less break
01:02
and our results will be a little bit better.
01:04
If you have the correct speed,
01:06
you're gonna become a much better putter.
01:07
Your three putts go down,
01:09
you're confidence on the green will be there.
01:11
Don't try to hit the perfect putt,
01:13
but have the right speed and roll it in the hole.
