If you're having problems with your short game,
00:02
say hitting your pit shots from maybe 60 yards and in,
00:06
or you're chunky and hitting 'em fast,
00:08
it's a little embarrassing
00:09
and becomes a bit of a mental issue
00:11
when you confront it with this shot.
00:12
So here's a few thoughts to really help you
00:14
to really improve your pitching
00:16
and hit them close to the hole,
00:17
and hopefully say par and make a birdie.
00:19
So what you wanna do, you wanna take a fairly lofted club,
00:23
either lob wedge or a sand wedge.
00:25
You wanna stand fairly narrow.
00:28
A little bit open and your weight favoring your left side.
00:31
Now here's the key, cuz what most players tend to do,
00:34
they swing it so far back
00:35
and then they slow down when the come into the ball
00:37
cuz they're fearful of hitting it too far.
00:40
So since you slow down, you sort of release the club early
00:42
and catch the turf behind the ball.
00:44
And that's why you chunk it.
00:46
It's so important on these shots
00:47
to swing it fairly compactly, have a compact finish,
00:51
and to always, always accelerate.
00:54
Okay.
00:54
You can not slow down with these shots.
00:55
Any shot in golf you need to accelerate.
00:57
Especially these little pit shot, so sit up to it,
01:02
fairly narrow stance, nice and relaxed,
01:05
and accelerate through.
01:12
Work on that your pitching will improve.
