There's no worse feeling in golf than hitting
00:02
a great drive off the tee, getting in the middle of fairway,
00:04
and finding your ball in a massive divot.

There are three technical keys to keep in mind
00:18
when hitting this shot.
00:19
The first is the ball position.
00:22
Instead of having the ball in the middle of your stance
00:24
like normal, you want to move it slightly back of center,
00:26
getting your weight from 50/50 to a little bit
00:28
more on your front leg and getting your hands
00:31
a little bit more in front of the ball than normal.
00:34
These three keys are going to allow you to create
00:36
a little bit more of a descending angle of attack
00:37
onto the ball and catch the ball first and not the ground.
00:46
And it looks like this.

So keep those three thoughts in mind.
00:54
The next time you're in a massive divot,
00:55
you're gonna leave yourself with a birdie opportunity.
