I am on number 10 at Chambers Bay.
00:06
Happens to be one of my favorite holes out here.
00:09
Your second shot is hid between the dunes on each side,
00:13
so it funnels it in
00:15
and you have the beautiful view of Puget Sound.
00:17
However, there is a prevailing southwest wind
00:20
and since most amateurs have about 160 to 170 yards,
00:24
it is easy to hit it up into these dunes,
00:27
which are 40 to 50 feet above the green.
00:30
So you get this really cool flop shot,
00:33
into the green and it's not as bad as it seems
00:36
because there's a backstop behind the pin,
00:38
so if you overshoot the pin,
00:40
the ball can funnel back to the hole.
00:42
A quick tip for this shot would be
00:45
instead of placing the club right behind the ball,
00:47
place it about two inches back
00:49
with the shaft even with the club head.
00:51
That will allow the leading edge
00:52
to slide right under the golf ball,
00:54
kind of like a bunker shot.
00:56
Commit to the swing because it's okay to hit past the pin.
01:11
How crazy was that shot?
01:12
That's where I just hit from
01:13
and I'm totally making this put.
