Golf is easy when it's on the range.
The lies are perfect, and even when you do mess up,
there's an entire bucket of balls to do it over.
But on the course, it's about how well you avoid disaster
and how well you recover when you do find trouble.
In season two of this video series with ServPro,
I'm gonna show you how to clean up some of the game's
biggest messes that can wreck your score
like it never even happened.

[club hitting ball]
Check out this scary situation.
I've just missed my shot, short left of the green,
and as I walk up, I realize I've gotta hit a flop shot,
a high soft shot that lands on the green
and doesn't roll much.
And what's scary about this shot, you can tend to hit it
a little short and fat and then it's gonna
plug in the bunker or you could possibly hit it thin
and it could go sculling across the green.
So what do I have to do to be successful at this?
Well the first thing is, I have to select the right club.
I've got my 60 degree,
and how do I know that this 60 degree's gonna have enough
trajectory and height to stop?
A simple thing to do, just lay your club on the ground
and step on the face with your foot,
and this should show you the trajectory
that this ball will come out.
If I want the shot to go a little bit higher,
what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna hold the club in front of me,
and I'm gonna open the face a little bit,
and that simple motion will help get this ball to come out
a little higher and softer.
I'm gonna keep it the same on this shot though.
The next thing I'm gonna do
is I'm gonna make some practice swings
and feel the club just brushing the grass.
Now, once I get ready to hit this shot,
I'm gonna have one simple thought left in my head,
and that's don't stop.
And what I mean by don't stop is
we're not gonna let the club head stop on the way through,
we're gonna not let our body stop on the way through,
and we're not gonna let our eyes stop on the way through.
And then as I take my set up,
I'm gonna make a nice little easy swing,
[club hitting the ball]
and if I can follow those simple steps,
I can escape this disaster like it never even happened.
