When you're faced with a tight lie on links golf,
00:05
the tendency is to hit the ball thin
00:07
because we're trying to pick the ball up
00:09
to hit it up in the air.
00:10
Typically they'll try and use their hands in the golf swing
00:13
rather than swinging down through the golf shot.
00:16
So what we try to do is get golfers to focus on
00:18
just making their usual golf swing
00:21
and hitting that golf ball first.
00:23
So when you're preparing to hit a shot off a tight lie,
00:26
one of the things that we try and get players to do is
00:28
make sure their grip pressure is light.
00:31
When you're setting up to the golf shot, the temptation
00:34
is to try and move that ball position towards the back.
00:37
Which causes a steeper angle of attack.
00:40
We want to avoid this and keep that ball position
00:42
in the middle or front of center
00:45
to make sure that we're hitting a clean, crisp shot.
00:48
When you're making a divot off of one of these
00:49
tight-lie golf shots, the divot should happen
00:51
right after your golf ball at impact
00:54
and should look almost like a dollar bill in size.
00:58
The biggest factor from a swinging standpoint
01:00
is just making sure you're making a full swing.
01:02
We're not gonna try and hurry the swing.
01:04
We're not gonna try and slow down the swing.
01:07
It's a nice even-tempoed golf swing.
01:09
Taking the club back to the top, being collected,
01:12
and then swinging down through the golf ball.
