Hey, what's up?
00:07
I'm Katherine Newton, I'm an actress
00:08
and what you might not know about me
00:10
is I play a lot of golf.
00:11
Am I any good?
00:13
You be the judge.
00:18
Well, I realize golf can be a little scary,
00:21
so I'm here to give you a few tips
00:23
so you can play like a pro.
00:24
Let's go.
00:31
So, it's a beautiful, sunny day
00:33
and you've got an itch to play golf.
00:35
Now what?
00:36
First thing you should do is call the pro shop
00:38
and make a tee time or register and do it online.
00:40
And if you call the pro shop,
00:42
you should tell them what time you want to play
00:43
and how many holes you want to play.
00:45
Generally, you can choose between 18 and nine.
00:47
But let's say you play nine,
00:48
you're allowed to quit after six.
00:50
And if you sign up for 18, you can quit after 12.
00:52
Nobody's stopping you.
00:53
Just have a good time.
00:55
But as far as making your tee time,
00:57
you've got to be a little flexible.
00:59
Because around the holidays and the weekends
01:01
it gets kind of busy but they'll try their best
01:03
to get you on the time that you can play.
01:04
When you're making your tee time,
01:06
you can tell them if you want to ride in a cart
01:08
or if you want to walk.
01:09
Some courses only allow you to ride on a cart.
01:11
I prefer to ride in a cart when I'm practicing
01:13
because I can hit a couple more shots,
01:15
but when I'm playing in a tournament, I like to walk
01:17
because it keeps me focused.
01:19
Some people like to drive the cart because it fun
01:21
and other people like to walk because it's good exercise.
01:24
Just know that some courses insist you have to take a cart,
01:26
so it's always a good idea to ask about the walking policy.
01:30
If you can walk, you might not have to carry your bag
01:32
because some places let you rent push carts.
01:35
Some courses even have caddies if you want to be super fancy
01:38
and you can pay for one for an extra fee.
01:40
There's also usually an extra fee for renting a push cart
01:43
but your back might think it's worth it.
