Today all my friends from Golf Digest
00:01
are actually at my home in Orlando, Florida.
00:04
I can't tell you exactly where it is,
00:06
'cause I don't want you to show up at my house.
00:08
(chill music)
00:13
This is the best time of the year by far to be in Orlando.
00:16
It's beautiful outside,
00:17
it's 88, it's sunny,
00:18
and I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else.
00:20
This is home to me.
00:21
Back in July, I was going through
00:23
some of my contract negotiations with Golf Channel NBC
00:26
and it finally came to an end.
00:27
We kind of finally decided that I was gonna go to Fox.
00:29
They made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
00:31
Offered me the NFL sidelines as well as
00:33
to be a part of the new golf crew,
00:35
where I will serve as anchor and reporter
00:37
for the new Fox golf team.
00:38
I'm really, really excited about that.
00:40
I have some fantastic colleagues
00:41
and it's been a big switch.
00:43
It is a network level job that I'm doing now
00:45
and that's really, what was really important to me
00:48
is the network time and that's what grows your career,
00:50
so that's why I left Golf Channel.
00:51
Arnold Palmer, well he started Golf Channel
00:54
so without him, I really wouldn't have had
00:56
a start in my career.
00:58
He would always come over periodically.
00:59
He had his own parking space.
01:01
When I first started at Golf Channel
01:03
I wasn't paying attention to the little sign
01:05
and I used to park there
01:06
and finally they were like,
01:07
Um, Holly, you need to move.
01:09
That's Mr Palmer's spot.
01:10
It was really special when we dedicated
01:13
Studio AP, Morning Drive's new studio to him
01:16
and he came and cut the ribbon.
01:17
That was really, really special.
01:18
For Fox, I will be doing,
01:20
I'll be a part of the golf coverage,
01:21
and I'll also be part of the NFL coverage.
01:22
So, someplace where I feel really comfortable
01:25
and something that I've always done
01:26
and is a huge part of my life, which is golf.
01:28
It has been a part of my life for 17-18 years now.
01:31
And I've always been a football fan,
01:33
so I'm really excited to get on the sidelines.
01:35
That is exactly my role.
01:36
I will be like Pam Oliver, Erin Andrews.
01:38
This year I'll be on the sidelines just learning my trade
01:42
because it's a new foray into something different
01:44
but it's really, really exciting
01:46
because football is the number one sport in America by far
01:49
and I'm really excited to change my career that way.
01:52
Even though I've been removed from television
01:54
for a couple of months,
01:55
I'm still not removed from the game of golf.
01:57
I keep track of everything.
01:58
It's my passion, it's what I love to do.
02:00
It's been a part of my life for so many years.
02:02
I'm close friends with the guys and girls on tour,
02:04
so it's important to me, since we're social friends too,
02:07
that I keep up with them, congratulate them,
02:09
and give them the props they deserve
02:11
because they're so awesome.
02:13
Who am I close with in the golf world?
02:14
Most of them that I did playing lessons with
02:16
and that are part of my Cobra Puma team,
02:18
like Lexi Thompson, Jesper Parnevik, Jonas Blixt,
02:22
Graeme McDowell, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose,
02:24
the list goes on and on.
02:26
Billy Horschel, I played junior golf with wife Brittany,
02:29
and we've always been close.
02:30
The instructors like Butch Harmon.
02:32
Everybody who's come through studio
02:33
has just been an exceptional person
02:35
and I'm very lucky to have the relationships that I do.
02:38
Two years ago when you guys chose me
02:39
to be on the cover on the first ever fitness issue
02:42
it changed me, it changed my life.
02:45
I know that sounds really cliche,
02:48
but to walk into public or any grocery store
02:50
or Walgreens and see my photo on the shelf
02:53
completely changed everything.
02:55
There's people across the country
02:57
who started following me on Twitter,
02:58
people across the world that otherwise
03:00
probably wouldn't have ever heard of me.
03:03
People outside golf started noticing me
03:04
and it was really, really special for me.
03:07
It also meant that I achieved a level in my career
03:10
where you guys felt that I was worthy
03:12
of being on the cover of such an important magazine.
03:15
I've read every single edition of Golf Digest
03:18
since I was a little girl.
03:19
It came to the house.
03:20
For you guys to think that I can make an impact
03:22
or that I was worthy of the cover
03:23
was really, really awesome for me.
