One of the things that I look at
00:05
when I get players sending me pictures on Twitter
00:08
is their head position.
00:09
Now, without a doubt, one of the most important elements
00:12
of the golf swing
00:12
is the angle of approach of the club
00:14
coming into the golf ball.
00:16
Well, in order to get the right angle of approach,
00:18
you have to have the right bend for your body,
00:21
and you have to have the right plane of your swing.
00:23
A more upright swing will hit down more.
00:25
A flatter swing will tend to sweep the ball more.
00:28
But one of the things that affects that angle of approach
00:31
is your head position.
00:32
And a common mistake that I see
00:34
are players tilting their head too much like this.
00:38
Your eyes are now looking down at an angle
00:40
that's way too sharp for you to come down into the golf ball
00:44
and hit it effectively.
00:45
You wanna try to keep your eyes level.
00:47
So if you have, look at the brim of my cap.
00:50
When I swing back, I keep my eyes level as I go back,
00:53
and I want them level as I come down.
00:55
If it's tilted too much here, or tilted too much back there,
00:59
the angle of the swing is gonna be influenced
01:02
by your head position.
01:03
So keep your eyes level,
01:04
keep the brim of your cap level throughout the swing,
01:07
you'll have a better chance to return the club
01:09
into the ball at the proper angle.
