The most important fundamental in golf is the grip.
00:06
Now a lot of people struggle with the grip,
00:08
even when they get it right to begin with,
00:10
they change it right before the take the club back.
00:13
So when you set up to the ball, set your arms down right
00:17
in front of your body, the V's that are formed
00:19
by your thumb and forefinger should point
00:21
in between your right shoulder and your right ear.
00:23
Make sure that once you get that grip, you keep it there.
00:28
What a lot of people have a tendency to do,
00:31
is milk the club a little bit and turn their hands.
00:34
Usually they turn 'em too much to the right,
00:36
so if you have a tendency to hook the ball,
00:39
make sure you're not adjusting your grip.
00:41
Another mistake I see people making is because
00:44
with a driver, the ball's teed up real high, they tend
00:47
to get behind it, and when they do, they change their grip.
00:51
So any time your ball is curving to the left, make sure
00:54
you get your grip set up and keep it there, don't change it.
00:58
If your golf ball's curving, there's a good chance
01:00
it's your grip, so make sure you check it.
