[Narrator] In time, the best golfers become known
as much for their accomplishments away from the course.
The World Golf Hall of Fame is lined with champions
who channeled their fame and earnings
toward philanthropic pursuits.
In early 2020, the PGA Tour eclipsed $3 billion
given to charity in its history.
A figure that far exceeds that of any other sport.
And this doesn't include the funds raised
through countless grassroots golf outings
organized by schools, churches,
civic organizations, and individuals.
To extol the kindness that pervades our game,
Golf Digest has partnered with the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am,
Monterey Peninsula Foundation,
and Arnie's Army Charitable Foundation
for eight consecutive years to recognize
golfers who give back.
The Arnie Award, a bronze sculpture of Arnold Palmer,
the games ultimate exemplar of caring,
is the highest honor Gold Digest bestows.
Jordan Spieth is one of this year's honorees
and at age 26, is the youngest golf professional
to ever receive an Arnie Award.
His years belie in awareness and maturity
spurred in large part by his close relationship
with his younger sister Ellie,
who was born with a genetic disorder.
With his parents, Jordan started
the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation
when he was just 21.
Since 2014, the three time Major winner
has used his success to raise awareness
and financial support to four areas close to his heart.
Youth with special needs, junior golf,
veterans and military families,
and pediatric cancer.
Palmer would approve.
Among the king's greatest trophies
are the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children,
and the Winnie Palmer Hospital
for Women and Babies in Orlando.
Since its inception, the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation
has raised over $4 million and distributed grants
to over 80 unique community partners.
If there's a secret sauce to how such a young man
has managed to already impact thousands of lives,
it might be the energy with which Jordan engages others.
This past November in Dallas,
Spieth & Friends hosted an auction and concert
featuring country musician Jake Owen,
an avid golfer and 2017 recipient of the Arnie Award.
Despite inclement weather, a packed field at Top Golf
cheered the good music and causes late into the night.
Every dollar raised will distributed thoughtfully
within the next calendar year.
[Jordan] Giving back is such an important part
of this game and I've been really lucky to learn
from the likes of so many legends like Mr. Palmer.
It's honestly the most important thing my family
and I are building going forward.
[Narrator] And what a difference the Jordan Spieth
Family Foundation has made.
Congratulations to all the recipients
of the 2020 Arnie Awards.
Toby Keith, Steve Young, and At&T athlete, Jordan Spieth.
