If you hang back in your golf swing,
00:08
your upper body
00:10
is well behind the golf ball at impact.
00:12
So the bottom of your swinger
00:13
is also behind the golf ball.
00:16
You could hit it fat, thin, block it right,
00:18
hook it left, any of those ball flight errors
00:21
could be caused by the hang back of the upper body.
00:24
So here's a great drill to fix the hang back
00:26
it's called the stock drill.
00:28
Put 98 percent of your weight on your left foot.
00:31
Throw your back foot slightly behind
00:34
the toe line or the heel line of that front foot.
00:37
Two percent on the inner right toe.
00:39
Make a couple practice swings.
00:43
Get a sense of your hips stabilizing
00:45
and your chest rotating through the impact zone.
00:51
What will occur is you'll get a sense of where
00:53
your upper body is in relation
00:54
to the golf ball at impact.
00:56
Start with a nine iron,
00:58
work your way up to a driver,
01:00
and then take that feeling into your regular golf swing.
01:03
So, if you have a hang back
01:05
try out the stock drill
01:06
and improve your ball striking.
