Hi, I'm Hank Haney, with a 5 Minute Fix.
00:07
I'm here with one of the best players in the NBA,
00:09
Stephen Curry.
00:10
I'm gonna try to help him with his drive,
00:11
an eliminate the left side of the golf course.
00:15
Well, I know I gotta hit a lot of drivers out here,
00:17
gotta move the ball left or right.
00:18
I might miss,
00:19
there's been a lot of snap hooks going to the left.
00:26
Steph's big issue is that,
00:28
he's got a really good golf swing,
00:29
and when you have a good golf swing,
00:31
the main issue is gonna be timing.
00:33
Your hands and arms kind of outrace your body,
00:35
so it looks like this.
00:37
When your hands and arms go fast,
00:38
and the body doesn't keep up,
00:40
then that club face closes.
00:42
The more you get the body going,
00:45
the more that face will stay square.
00:49
The biggest point he gave me was about my hips
00:51
and how to turn.
00:52
He gave me a real good explanation of,
00:54
if you're hanging back with your hips,
00:56
the club face wants to turn over.
00:57
And most of the time when I know
00:58
there's trouble on the left,
00:59
I'm usually protecting that left side.
01:01
Making sure I get my hips through the ball,
01:03
being aggressive, to get to my left side early
01:04
so that the club face is open through the ball.
01:06
So that's your big thought
01:07
if you're facing trouble on the left.
01:09
You've gotta finish that swing,
01:10
you gotta get to your finish,
01:11
you gotta be aggressive
01:12
getting through the ball to the left.
01:17
That's perfect ball-flight for this course right here.
01:20
Man, thank you very much, Hank.
01:21
You're welcome, that was pretty good.
01:22
Appreciate it, I'm pretty confident right now.
01:23
Are you?
01:24
(both laugh) I like that.
01:29
Thanks, Hank, for the quick fix.
01:32
With Steph Curry, he was hitting some drives
01:34
that were hooking and going low to the left.
01:36
That's a classic mistake for a better player.
01:39
So, what we had to do was fix his timing,
01:41
and that means coordinating his hands and arms and his body,
01:44
getting them to move through the shot correctly.
