If you want to train to make a better backswing
00:03
the way David Leadbetter talks about,
00:05
where you're coiling or winding or even loading,
00:07
I suggest you try this exercise.
00:10
It's a dumbbell backswing.
00:11
So, I actually even use my golf grip on the dumbbell.
00:14
I get into my address posture,
00:15
you notice I have a nice shoulder tilt here,
00:17
and then, feeling like I keep the upper part of my arm
00:20
sort of attached to my torso, I just turn back
00:24
and hold for a second,
00:27
and then return to start.
00:28
So, again, I keep the upper part of the arm
00:30
attached to the torso, so I'm actually turning and coiling
00:35
at the same time.
00:37
Not just making a fake arm turn,
00:38
or even swaying off the ball like this.
00:41
What this weight does is really helps train you
00:44
to feel that you're winding or coiling
00:48
and that's really important.
00:49
Because if you think about it, any time you start to drift,
00:52
it's going to be really hard to get back to the ball,
00:54
and any time you make just an arm swing,
00:56
you're going to have no power.
00:57
So that's it for this week.
00:59
Thanks for watching.
