You know, one of the problems with sitting
00:03
at your desk all day is after a while
00:05
your spine starts to compress on itself.
00:08
What happens is your glute muscles literally go to sleep
00:11
and they're supposed to prop up your trunk.
00:13
They hold up your upper body as you're sitting.
00:15
What you need to do is every once in a while,
00:17
get up from your desk, try this stretch.
00:19
It's gonna help you from getting lower back pain
00:21
when you play golf.
00:22
What I want you to do is put down your chair,
00:24
make sure the chair doesn't have wheels,
00:25
by the way, nice steady chair or platform.
00:27
Put one foot up on the platform, the other on the ground.
00:30
Now, what I want you to do is lean forward with your pelvis,
00:34
so you start to feel a stretch in your hip.
00:36
I also want you to push down with the foot that's planted
00:40
and squeeze your glute muscle at the same time.
00:42
The third part of this is I want you to take your hand,
00:45
reach towards the sky, and then lean into the leg
00:47
that's propped up on the bench.
00:50
Now you hold that stretch for about 30 seconds,
00:52
flip over and do the other side.
00:54
It'll help reactivate your glute muscles,
00:56
it'll take away that lower back pain.
00:58
Thanks for watching, see you next Friday.
