Fitness Friday: Correct Your Posture

Golf Digest fitness advisor Ralph Simpson demonstrates a simple exercise you can do to help correct your head posture. Add it to your workout routine and you might soon find a number of your health issues start to vanish.

In the sitting position, pull your shoulder blades

back together, chest out, chin tucked in,

so that your face plane is vertical

and your palms flat on a bench,

so you're stretching the front part of your forearms.

Your shoulder blades are pulled back,

and your chin is tucked in activating

the short flexors of the front of your throat.

Hold that for 30 seconds.

That will help correct your posture deficit

if it's through your neck,

and strengthen the front part of your neck

which needs to support your neck,

as well as stretching out the front part of your forearms,

and repositioning your shoulder blades.
