Ben Shear here for Fitness Fridays for Golf Digest,
00:04
and were talking about an exercise, the lateral bound,
00:07
which is a great exercise to help us create that push-off,
00:10
or that change in direction in transition.
00:13
So to do this exercise, what I'm going to do is,
00:15
I'm going to stance by starting on my right leg,
00:17
and I'm going to be jumping, or what we call bounding,
00:20
out to the side, and as I move to the side,
00:22
I'm going to then stick and land on my left leg.
00:24
So, from my right leg, I move to my opposite,
00:27
and then I move back, and move to my opposite,
00:30
then I move back.
00:31
I'm pushing off the inside of this foot
00:33
to move me in the opposite direction.
00:35
If you wanted to, then you could add a rotation.
00:37
So it's kind of back swing,
00:39
down swing, back swing, down swing.
00:43
This is a great exercise to learn to push in transition,
00:46
and create a little bit of a lateral move
00:47
before you begin your rotation.
