Proper hip motion with a driver can be very confusing.
00:07
One of the questions I get a lot is
00:09
Should I slide my hips?
00:11
Or should I turn my hips?
00:13
Well the thing is, we should do both.
00:14
Just in the right sequence.
00:16
So what I've done here is I'm gonna give you a quick tip
00:19
with these 2 rods on how to find the proper sequence.
00:21
First thing you're gonna do,
00:23
you're gonna set this rod on the ground
00:25
just out in front of your front foot.
00:28
Second thing.
00:29
We're gonna put the second rod right on our belt buckle.
00:32
Now, as we make our backswing
00:35
our hips will turn and you'll see the rod
00:36
will point slightly to the right
00:38
for you right-handed hitters.
00:39
Now, how do we start our downswing?
00:42
The hips are gonna move forward
00:43
and it's gonna feel like they're movin'
00:45
to the right a little bit.
00:47
What's this gonna do?
00:48
It's gonna help you get your weight into this front foot,
00:51
and help get the club behind you.
00:53
Now, once we've made that motion,
00:56
you're gonna let those hips turn
00:57
and you're gonna get right into your finish
00:59
where the rod on your hips matches the rod on the ground.
01:02
If you can figure out this sequence,
01:04
you're gonna be hitting long drives in no time.
