The differences in the A swing setup
00:07
compared to a normal setup are very subtle.
00:11
Certainly the grip is different.
00:12
Where we talk about a
00:13
slightly stronger left-hand, more around to the right
00:16
and then slightly weaker right-hand,
00:18
more around to the left.
00:19
But the big thing is to get your body in balance
00:22
and to be in a position where you can move
00:25
because remember the fact of the matter is
00:27
your center of gravity plays an important role
00:29
in where the club is directed.
00:32
So one thing you can do is to feel
00:34
almost if you held the club out in front of you,
00:36
wrap your arms around your chest,
00:38
pull your shoulder blades down,
00:40
and remember importantly bend from the hips.
00:43
Very important to bend from the hips,
00:44
don't bend from the waist.
00:46
That's when you get a little scrunched up.
00:47
So I bend from the hips here.
00:50
Soften the knees, let the arms just fall to the ground,
00:54
and here I am in position.
00:56
And the final thing really,
00:57
I actually like to see with this A swing,
01:00
where the right foot is pulled back slightly.
01:02
So the feet are slightly closed.
01:03
Nothing else, everything else,
01:05
your knees, your hips, and your shoulders
01:07
are pretty much lined parallel to your target
01:10
but pull that right foot back.
01:11
It actually enables you to wind up a little better
01:14
and to actually move in the right direction coming down.
01:16
So, good solid setup, shoulder blades down,
01:21
good grip and then you're in position
01:23
from where you can start the A swing.
