Now you've learned about the four steps to
00:05
making the A-Swing grip, let me give you a brief summary.
00:08
The left hand basically is placed in position
00:12
in the fingers.
00:13
Low down, not up in the palm, which is where most
00:14
people tend to have it.
00:15
Get it down towards the fingers.
00:17
Make sure you see at least two to two and a half
00:20
knuckles on the left hand, and when you hold it up,
00:22
you want a little cup at the base of your left wrist.
00:26
Now, I attach my right hand.
00:28
Whether you overlap, interlock, or just baseball
00:30
that's fine.
00:32
I like the interlock personally.
00:34
Now you place your right hand over
00:36
in a fairly weak position.
00:38
In other words, I'm moving it over to the left
00:39
side of the shaft.
00:41
Okay, so my left hand is fairly strong,
00:43
my right hand is fairly weak.
00:45
When I hold this up,
00:47
you can see I now have a symmetrical look at the base
00:49
of the left wrist and the right wrist.
00:51
When I do this, I feel nice and relaxed,
00:54
I can feel the weight of the club here,
00:56
that's so important because this position here,
00:58
with my wrists, we call this the prayer position.
01:01
When I have my hands placed on the club,
01:05
at the top of the backswing, I want to have that same look.
01:07
This is when the club is in perfect balance.
01:09
So, remember, left hand fairly strong,
01:12
right hand fairly weak, and I tell you,
01:14
it feels really, really natural.
01:16
And feel the weight of the club.
01:18
Not too much tension, about a four out of ten
01:19
is what you want.
01:24
Get this grip right
01:25
and you're off to a good start with your A-Swing.
