[Narrator] KJ Choi, from Korea,
00:04
good player for many, many years,
00:06
multiple winner on the PGA Tour.
00:08
Interesting how he addresses the ball
00:10
with his head position, you can see he sort of
00:12
tweaks it to the left.
00:14
I think his half-swing is really based on rhythm,
00:16
we can see as he swings it away,
00:18
club face a little bit closed,
00:19
but watch the lift as he gets to the top of the backswing.
00:22
We can see almost a slight pause at the top there,
00:24
sort of hangs back there,
00:26
and gets that club face square through the ball.
00:28
But what I like is this, almost this Sam Snead squat
00:32
we'll notice as he changes direction,
00:33
look how his legs sort of almost sit there,
00:36
that's the strength of his change of direction,
00:39
when he stands up out of it.
00:41
Look at that full flowing finish.
00:43
Number of compensations with KJ's swing.
00:48
As strong as KJ is, he doesn't really have
00:50
a dynamic looking posture, just sort of stands to the ball,
00:54
he hasn't got many angles created here.
00:55
Now as he swings it back, you can see
00:58
club face a little bit closed,
01:00
here comes the lift to the top of the backswing,
01:02
very flat shoulder plane, here's the little
01:05
over-the-top move, stands up on it so he gets
01:07
the club now coming from the inside.
01:09
Drives his right elbow into the hip and then
01:12
full flowing finish.
01:14
These compensations have won him
01:16
a lot of money through the years.
