I'm faced with a shot here
00:05
you're seeing more and more often.
00:07
This kind of close cut chipping area
00:09
where my ball is below
00:10
and I have to hit up to the flag stick.
00:12
There's a lot of different ways to play this shot.
00:14
If it's fairway cut and it's real smooth,
00:16
putter's a great option.
00:18
If it's a little bit longer grass,
00:20
try using your putting stroke with a hybrid
00:23
or maybe a fairway wood.
00:26
The next option would be eight or nine iron.
00:28
Try to hit a bump and run shot,
00:30
kinda carry it about halfway up the slope,
00:32
let it roll onto the green.
00:33
And your final option is to use a lob wedge
00:35
and try to hit a high flop shot.
00:37
That's the most risky shot
00:38
and I wouldn't recommend that unless you have a perfect lie
00:41
and you're really confident in the shot.
00:43
So I'm gonna choose an eight iron here,
00:45
and my goal is to get the ball on the green
00:46
and get myself a chance to make the put.
00:48
Worst case scenario, I wanna make a three.
00:51
So I'm just gonna put the ball on the middle,
00:52
just slightly back in my stance,
00:54
put my hands a little in front of the ball,
00:56
weight on the left foot,
00:58
try to bump it about halfway up the slope,
00:59
(golf club striking)
01:01
and let it run onto the green.
01:03
Again, all you're trying to do is make a three or better.
01:06
Good luck, pick the safest club.
