The tight lie pitch is a difficult
00:06
shot to play around the green 'cause
00:08
often times your club gets stuck in the turf.
00:10
And that's because you're, typically,
00:11
playing this shot into the grain.
00:13
You'll see, if I lean the shaft forward,
00:15
against the surface, here, there's
00:17
some resistance.
00:18
So, to help you with that, be sure
00:19
to add some loft.
00:20
I'm gonna use this pointer, here,
00:21
to help you see that.
00:23
By, instead of leaning the shaft forward,
00:26
put it back and neutral, just the way
00:28
the club came to you.
00:29
If anything, I'd like it even back of neutral.
00:32
That's gonna give you loft and a little more
00:34
bounce angle to help the club slide up the slope.
00:36
Lemme show you how that works.
00:39
(birds chirping)
00:41
(club scuffing)
00:44
(ball thwacking)
00:48
So remember, when you're playing off
00:49
a tight lie into the grain, loft and bounce
00:52
are your friend.
