The goal of the ...

From the top.

00:18
This is a game I play with Jordan called the Heart Array.
00:20
The reason it's called the Heart Array is
00:22
I'm asking him to create three different trajectories
00:24
with three different shapes.
00:26
When you overlay these on one screen shot,
00:29
it looks like a heart that's coming in and falling
00:31
right back to the target.
00:33
The goal of this game is to hit all six ball flights
00:36
in as few shots as possible.
00:37
Jordan can go six for six.
00:39
In order to create the three trajectories,
00:41
I'm altering ball positions.
00:43
If I take these three balls and adjust my stance,
00:45
I'm going to use the back ball as the low trajectory,
00:48
the front ball as the high trajectory,
00:49
and the mid trajectory is right in the middle of those.
00:53
To achieve that shot shape and fade,
00:55
I'm going to align my body left of target line,
00:57
assuming the camera is the target line.
00:59
Then I'm going to be swinging along my body line
01:02
and holding the club face open just a little bit
01:04
so the ball starts left of target and then curves back.
01:16
Conversely, to achieve the draw,
01:17
I'm going to do the opposite.
01:18
I'm going to aim my body to the right of target line,
01:20
again camera is the target line.
01:23
And I'm going to swing to the right of target line,
01:25
finish a little higher on that ball.
01:27
As I close the club face is finishing higher,
01:29
it's going to turn back towards the target line.
01:40
While I challenge Jordan to hit six different shot shapes
01:42
and all land within a 15-feet proximity to the hole,
01:46
for you the amateur golfer,
01:47
I want you to start with two shots:
01:48
the medium draw and the medium fade.
01:51
Let's also widen out our acceptable range
01:53
to 40 feet away from the hole.
01:56
Continue to hit those two shots,
01:57
measuring your success based on the number of attempts
02:00
it takes you to achieve that goal.
02:02
As you're able to achieve that goal
02:04
in maybe two or three shots,
02:06
then start to expand your repertoire
02:08
to create low trajectory by moving that ball position back,
02:11
then ultimately high trajectory
02:13
by moving that ball position forward,
02:15
all the while trying to reduce the number of shots
02:17
it takes you to achieve the Heart Array.
02:20
(rock music)
02:24
All right, that's all I got.
