Let's talk about some bunker basics.
00:02
Now, we all know that we need to open the club face
00:04
and expose the bounce.
00:06
Now, a problem that a lot of people have is
00:08
they're aiming the loft of the club
00:10
too far to the right.
00:11
So, the first key is to aim the loft of the club
00:13
at the target.
00:14
Now, we do this by lowering the handle.
00:17
Now, second thing, we know we're using the sand
00:19
to splash the ball and expel it onto the green,
00:22
so doesn't it make sense that we need more swing
00:25
and more speed to do this?
00:26
Now, the key here is a three to one ratio.
00:29
What I mean by that is if you have a 20 yard bunker shot,
00:31
that would require a 60 yard pitch motion.
00:35
For me, that would be about
00:36
a chest high to chest high swing.
00:38
That should look something like this.
00:47
So remember, loft of the club at the target,
00:50
three to one ratio.
00:52
Follow those tips,
00:53
and I know you'll become a better bunker player.
