Released on 4/11/2016
Thinking about playing golf today?
Well, I hope you bring protection.
Otherwise you're gonna end up with cracked lips,
a wicked sunburn, and enough bug bites to make you wish
you played a safer sport, you know, like boxing or rugby.
I'm talking about you need lip balm, sunscreen,
and insect repellent the next time you play.
Lucky for you, we went out and found the best damn
skin care products for golf.
So let's start with sunscreen.
I want you to remember these two key ingredients.
If you see either one of them on the label,
this is a good sunscreen.
I'm talking about titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.
So the next thing to look for is the SPF,
that stands for sun protection factor.
Now it's true that the bigger the number,
the better the protection, however anything that's listed
above 50 is truly just a marketing ploy.
Sunscreen only lasts for two hours, so 50 is plenty
of protection against UV rays.
Lastly, you want lotions over sprays.
Now I know a lot of you out there love the sprays
because they're so easy to put on.
The problem is, they don't cover golfers the way we
need to be covered, so always use lotions.
Okay so now let's talk about lip balm.
And with lip balm, the same things that apply for sunscreen
also apply here, remember, your lips are skin too.
So SPF in the ingredients for sun protection factor
are really important.
But there's one more thing you should think about,
and of course, that's moisturizer.
After all, you want to pucker up with pride, right?
Well, look for things like aloe, or shea butter,
or other natural oils.
If they're in the ingredients,
those are the lip balms you want.
Now let's move on to the thing
that bugs you the most, insects.
Mosquitoes, flies, gnats, they drive you crazy
when you're on the golf course,
so you definitely wanna think about insect repellent.
However, not all insect repellents are created equal.
You're looking for some key ingredients that do the best job
at keeping these suckers away from you.
Look for DEET, picaridin, or lemon eucalyptus.
If you see one of those, you know you have the best
protection against those pesky critters.
We realize a lot of you might think this is overkill,
but look at it this way,
you wouldn't play football without a helmet,
so don't play your next round
without the best skin care products in golf.
