00:04
If you're having problems out of fairway bunkers,
00:07
I'm gonna show you a four step plan how to hit them solidly.
00:10
A lot of golfers really struggle out of fairway bunkers.
00:13
Certainly, you've got to make sure you've got enough club
00:16
to get over the lip, but there is a certain force,
00:19
as far as your technique is concerned,
00:21
that can really help you.
00:22
So with that, there's four thoughts.
00:23
So, we're gonna show you here now.
00:25
First thing, what you wanna do,
00:26
you wanna bury your feet in the sand.
00:28
So important to get good balance
00:29
from a soft surface like this.
00:31
And you actually wanna roll your feet inwards slightly.
00:34
This really helps you to keep your
00:35
weight in between your ankles.
00:37
So you can see, I'm not building a stance,
00:40
but I'm rolling my feet in.
00:42
The second thing is, you wanna choke down on the club,
00:45
maybe about an inch, about the amount of action with
00:47
that you bury your feet into the sand.
00:50
Now from here, I wanna make sure when I set up to it,
00:53
because I wanna make sure I hit the ball first,
00:55
not the sand, I want you to look at the top of the ball,
00:58
or even actually the front side of the ball.
01:00
It just gets your focused on making sure that
01:02
the club makes contact with the ball first.
01:05
And finally, you wanna have a little more
01:07
of a three quarter type swing.
01:09
You don't want too big a swing,
01:10
because it's all about balance in the sand.
01:12
So a three quarter swing will actually help you to do that.
01:15
So get yourself set in the sand.
01:18
Roll the feet in, choke down about an inch or so.
01:21
Look at the top or the front of the ball,
01:23
and a nice smooth three quarter swing,
01:25
and you should hit the ball solidly.
01:30
(golf club swishes)
01:33
Follow those four steps,
01:34
you'll have no problems out of fairway bunkers.
