One of the forgotten fundamentals
00:01
about putting is rhythm.
00:03
It's important because it's going to
00:05
allow you to strike the ball more consistently,
00:07
and therefore have better speed,
00:08
and you'll make more putts.
00:10
Now, the rhythm should be a pendulum rhythm.
00:12
That means it should be two beats on the way back,
00:14
to one on the way through.
00:16
I like to tell my students
00:17
to tell themselves perfect pace.
00:20
That's perfect on the way back, pace on the way through.
00:23
What that'll do is allow you to get
00:25
the two beats to one.
00:27
Now it's doesn't matter if the stroke is long.
00:29
Perfect pace.
00:31
Or short.
00:32
Perfect pace.
00:34
The rhythm is going to stay the same.
00:37
If you can have two beats to one,
00:38
that's going to increase the contact
00:41
and get you better speed.
00:43
The better your rhythm can be, the better the speed will be,
00:45
and you'll make more putts.
