[Announcer 1] Back at the black course here
at the par three eighth, Justin Timberlake
with his second from the bunker.
[Narrator 2] They have a pretty decent lie over here.
Ball came out a little quick but he had some spin.
[Narrator 1] Timberlake with the best score
of everyone so far, plus five as he plays this par three.
And he'll have a chance to save his par.
in the meantime, Michael Jordan, looking for his first par
two putts from here, and he gets it.
[Narrator 2] Straight uphill putt here.
A birdie would really be sweet.
Oh, but you gotta hit it, Michael with a slow putt.
Ugh, the hill!
[Narrator 1] Timberlake now, for his three.
[Narrator 2] So move to his left.
Slightly downhill, not much.
That's a good putt. A good stroke.
[Narrator 1] Even though a bogie for Timberlake,
at plus six, he's looking pretty good to break 100,
at least right now.
There's still a lot of golf to be played.
Now Roethlisberger for his two.
Come on, come on ball!
[Observer] Good luck.
[Observer 2] I'd go hit him but
it probably wouldn't be a good idea.
[Narrator 1] Rocco razzing his quarterback.
It was a nice lag, it was well-lagged.
I think it would've.
[Narrator 2] So Jordan for his very first par of the day.
Fred Couples looking on, saying boy it's taken long time,
but we finally got it!
[Fred] Good job.
Hey, I made a par!
[Narrator 1] So a very relieved MJ.
Giebelhausen by the way picks up his third triple
to go along with a quintuple, but Michael Jordan
feelig pretty good about his game right now.
Let's go back down to Mark Rolfing.
MJ, pleased with the way you're playing so far?
You know I got off to a bad start,
and a lot of that had to do with nerves,
you know I have the greatest appreciation for PGA golfers
without a doubt, and you know,
no matter how well I played the last couple days,
when the lights turn on, it's a whole different feeling.
So you were nervous?
Nervous? I don't know if I could breathe.
You know, but it was fun, you know,
you don't have those types of feelings too much,
but I'm a big fan of golf, I'm a respecter
of the game of golf and the professional players,
so I mean, I'm not done yet,
I think I can play a lot better, I haven't played too well
right now, but I'm pretty sure I can play a lot better.
[Narrator 1] Hard to imagine Michael Jordan that nervous,
a guy who's won six NBA titles.
Here was Jordan at the par four ninth,
right in front of the green here,
trying to get it up and down
and stay at that plus 11 number right at the turn.
[Observer] That was a pretty good-looking
wedge swing right there!
Oh, right across the hole!
You might have put the spin on it.
[Justin] Yeah! That's what I'm talking about.
[Michael] I got it, dog.
Did you see that, MJ? It lipped out.
It hit past the hole and lipped out.
[Narrator 1] And it did catch an edge
on the left side of the cup.
Unfortunately Jordan would miss that putt for par,
make a bogie, but there's the Jordan card on the front nine,
plus 12, good comeback for him,
Giebelhausen plus 18 needs to bring it back
on the final nine to have a chance to break 100.
Timberlake and Roethlisberger both at plus seven
at the turn, as we go back down to Mark Rolfing.
Alright Ben Roethlisberger, Justin Timberlake,
both plus seven, great rounds on the front side,
Justin, how much better do you feel than you did
a year ago after your front nine?
I think a lot better.
I love the way this course looks, I love the way it sets up,
it's hard to believe this is a public course,
I mean it really is.
You know the USGA did an amazing job
putting it together the way they have.
Alright, Ben, really good shots for the most part,
a couple of hooks, that's your nemesis,
can you fix them on the back side?
Yeah, I'm getting some lessons on the walk over,
Justin's going to help me out
because he's been driving the ball so well,
and Rocco's been yelling at me,
so I'm gonna pick my game up now.
You got this!
Alright, well good luck on the back nine!
